The Certificate in Parent Education provides Adlerian theory and best practice in parent education through both academic and experiential learning.
Participants are provided a certificate of completion after completing the 8 week course. This program provides skills and tools to conceptualize and offer parenting support, and enhance counselling, social work, teaching and parenting practices.
Those seeking full certification to become a Certified Parenting Facilitator (CPF) and facilitate their own workshops can complete the necessary requisites. The CPF credential indicates that the recipient has met all of the standards and requirements for the practice of Adlerian Parenting Education in the Province of British Columbia. The credential is awarded by The Alfred Adler Institute and recognized by Adlerian peers and practitioners through the Adlerian Psychology Association of BC.
Register HereA total of 4 credits (each credit = 12 hrs class time) is required to complete the certificate. Course components may be taken separately on their own or as part of the certificate program.
Courses are assessed entirely on a “Pass” or “No Pass” basis with competency feedback. Students may also be issued a “Remediation” which will specify additional work, or alteration of existing work, before a final grade is issued.
